Bat Jewelry Rack
My sister loves bats, so I made her a bat rack for her birthday. It’s perfect for storing scarves or jewelry, and she always enjoys my crazy, handmade gifts.
I started with a wooden Bat Cutout from Woodpecker Crafts.
I added a piece of scrap wood to the back so I’d have something to attach the hooks to. I used Tite Bond Quick and Thick Glue.
I used my favorite Paintable Wallpaper to cover the front of the bat.
I had a sample pot of black paint left from my bedroom ceiling. I painted two coats on the front, back, and edges.
I added two D Ring Hangers to the back. It’s a little harder to mount on the wall with two hangers, but it is much sturdier.
I used my finger to rub a little bit of Deco Art Metallic Lustre in Black Shimmer over the raised details of the wallpaper. I sealed it with two coats of Mod Podge in Matte.
I spaced four Small Black Hooks evenly across the front and made sure the screws went through the extra wood on the back for added security.
I love the way the light catches the shimmer of the lustre wax and highlights the pattern of the wallpaper.
This little project turned out so cute I might be making one for myself in the future.
And my sister loved it by the way!
