Hello!

Ticklepenny Cottage is my own little fairy tale come true. I am lucky enough to be creating my whimsical little dream home, and what it lacks in square footage it will make up for in imagination. This blog will chronicle the journey of Ticklepenny Cottage from fantasy to reality.  It won’t include every single step, because some are boring.  I’m only going to write about the things that I think might be of interest to people.  But it won’t be a glossy, touched up account that just brags and makes it look easy.  I’m going to point out often how lucky I am, because I don’t take that for granted. I’m also going to share my “oops” moments as well, things that don’t go according to plan, or ideas that I have that are just too hard to make real.  I’m hoping to inspire others to try some of my ideas or make up versions of their own, or to warn them about things that don’t seem to work.  My philosophy can best be summed up in a statement from the Second Star Festival (a local arts fest based on the quote from Peter Pan): “Always Create! Always Encourage! Never Land!”  So join me on this journey down the rabbit hole, and welcome to Ticklepenny Cottage.
