Easter Crafts
I made a few fun little springtime crafts for Easter this week. Eggs and a bunny. What could be more Eastery?
I had some paper napkins with flowers and animals all over them, and I used them in a couple of ways. I started with a new set of coasters. For details on how I make these, see THIS POST.
Next I used some wooden eggs from Woodpecker Crafts to make some long lasting Easter eggs.
The scraps from the coasters still had lots of pictures left, so I cut out several.
I used Mod Podge to stick the pictures all over the eggs.
I used Limestone Glaze from Country Chic Paint to fill in the gaps between the designs. I wanted the color to look cohesive but for the wood to still show a bit.
The finished product is a rustic egg with lovely designs all over it. They look pretty in an Easter basket, and also in this old silverplate bowl.
I also made a little brown bunny to decorate my mantle. I started with a wooden cutout Rabbit from Woodpecker. I covered it with a paintable wallpaper.
It got two coats of a muted brown called Pawsome from Country Chic Paint. It was part of a special collection and I think it has been discontinued.
A coat of the same Limestone Glaze I used of the eggs brought out all of the details of the paper’s texture.
A little lace bow around its neck, and my new little bunny was finished.
My mantle has several rabbits right now, and this little cutie fits right in.
