Peachy Keen Studio Accessories

Just for fun, I decided to see how many things I could paint using one sample pot of Country Chic paint. Since their color of the month is Peachy Keen, it seemed like a great choice.

I gathered a bunch of items together, and then added a few more, just in case there was leftover paint.

I started with a really boring chair which I recovered in a gorgeous gold brocade with peachy pink roses on it. Just looking at this combination of colors made me smile, so I stamped the word SMILE across the back in a bright golden green using IOD Typesetting Stamps. I added a few little bees (to go with the roses) and stripes around the legs, to make it more whimsical.

I had a chunk of teak with flowers carved in it left over from my bathroom vanity (coming soon in another post) so I made it into a shelf to hold Agatha’s treats in my studio. Marc cut a couple of brackets for me and we added an old spindle to the bottom to hold her leash. I painted an old tea tin and added a wooden knob to the top and used the Peachy Keen paint and an IOD Crockery Stamp to label it as Potted Meats (perfect for bacon treats). I used Country Chic’s Gold Wax to bring out the details of the carving.

I had a plain wooden box tray that really needed a makeover. It got my favorite IOD Painterly Roses Stamps– this time in yellow, and hammered gold paint for the handles, and became a cute shelf.

A silver tray from the dollar star also got gold spray paint around the edge and a peachy pink center to become a magnetic memo board.

I drybrushed paint onto a plain basket and stamped peachy pink roses on the cloth lining. Country Chic’s W.A.L.K green paint goes beautifully with Peachy Keen.

I painted a plain picture frame and highlighted it with a rose gold metallic accent cream. I’m going to use it to hold a sweet card featuring a black pug wearing a hat that my aunt sent me when the hats I sell on Etsy got a write up in New York Magazine.

For some reason I have several wooden artists’ figures lying around, so one got a Peachy Keen makeover. It was hard to paint all of its little joints, but it looks good in the end.

I found a scrap of pine board and used Marc’s router to make pretty edges on it. I added paintable wallpaper to the top and four wooden knobs for feet. This one got Peachy Keen and the same golden green as the chair with gold wax over the whole thing. It became a cute riser to hold a plant.

There was a little bit of paint left, so I mixed in some Country Chic Texture Powder and dabbed it on to a little wooden box to which I added a moulding. I used Country Chic Limestone Glaze to get in all the nooks and crannies.

So it turns out you can do a lot with one little jar of paint! By the way, this isn’t a sponsored post or anything. I just had a bunch of Country Chic products from a mystery box I ordered last year and I wanted an excuse to try some of them for the first time. I use lots of different brands of paint, but I do love Country Chic for their range of colors and products, and for their wonderfully friendly customer service. If you haven’t tried their products, I recommend them!
